Bill McGruddy is a composer, producer, recording artist and lyricist. His career in music began at the age of 11 as a classical concert pianist. With 35 years of live experience Bill has performed countless concerts and festivals, as well as live television and radio performances.

In the late 90’s, Bill toured internationally with his authentic tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors.

After working with Solarstone under the band name Zodiac, Bill wrote and recorded the vocals for “Touch the Sky”.

It was instantly apparent that Bill and Richard Mowatt had great chemistry in the studio. They collaborated further as  Z2 “I Want You” and 2nd Element “Underwaterfall”. Z2’s ‘I Want You’ was a dance floor hit with BBC Radio 1 airplay and was licensed on many Compilations. 

With over 10,000 copies bought pre-sale, ‘I Want you’ reached number 6 in the official UK Indie charts.

Various tracks and remixes have included Bill’s original vocal from “Touch the Sky” including Paul Oakenfold’s remix of Solarstone’s track ‘Release’.

Underwaterfall went on to appear on “Chilled out Euphoria” selling over 80,000 copies and was described as “ahead of its time” by Mix Magazine.

 Bill went on as a vocalist and writer with other successful electronic artist’s resulting in a string of underground club hits well into the early 00’s, as well as ghostwriting for established artists including Natasha Atlas , Wishbone Ash and Alabama 3.

A versatile and dynamic composer, Bill became involved in music composition and production for film, television and theatre.

As well as touring with his indie band The Southern Electrics,  Bill pursued his passion of producing electronic music.

Working together with Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers) and Paul Reeves (producer and live engineer for rock band Muse)  an album was conceived and released with MI5/Universal Music Group.

Bill continues to produce, compose and record, releasing electronic underground club hits.
